Goals for 2014

c. Google

Hello everyone! ~

There are 17 days until the new year ! Today's post is all about pondering for the future.

In the past I've made new year's resolutions but I've never committed or completed them. With the new year, it got me to thinking.. what do I want to accomplish in 2014?

1. My Goal Weight and a Personality Adjustment - This is a little personal for me, but I do have a certain weight I want to reach, and I feel like 2014 is a year to start over. In January, tons of people have this goal but I want to start off slow and build up to eventually run a marathon in Disney world or Disneyland in the fall. I know it might sound weird, but if I reach my goal weight my prize will be to run at the Disney's Wine and Dine half marathon or the Twilight of Terror marathon .. and a week's vacation to Disney. It's a prize i'm really looking forward too!! With the personality adjustment, it's simple. Stop be sassy. At times, I'm very sassy. I get a little attitude amongst other people and while I was attending church, I just thought to myself - I don't want to be sassy/rude to anyone. I want to be a positive person, and I want people to approach me and see me as the kindest person they've ever met. That being said, I'm not a rude person all the time... but I have been told that I do come off strong when it comes to opinions - I'm a free spirit, it happens! lol - but that's just the meaning behind the 'personality adjustment'.

2. Project Life 2014 - This is my main goal for the year! I really want to be dedicated to this weekly and   I plan too! I've even signed up for Day by Day 2014 (Studio Calico class)!

3. Organization - Organization is another one of my goals. In the beginning of the year, I was on my A game. I always organized my planner according to the week. I kept my laptop organized with my Filofax schedule. I kept EVERYTHING organized. Sadly, towards the end of the year - I lost my spunk. I stopped using my Filofax.. I stopped blogging .. and my energy for school dwindled.

4. Travel - This year, I do plan to travel more. I REALLY want to return to Comic-Con 2014. If all goes well, I will be returning. I do want to go to New York or Chicago - or just somewhere spontaneous! Plus, if I reach one of my goals, I do get to go to Florida!

I've gained my energy back for 2014! I am going to be organized. I am going to commit to Project Life and I am going to fulfill all my goals for 2014. I look forward to sharing an update in the future!

Until next time,

Beginning Project Life ... and a little Q&A

c. Becky Higgins

I'm jumping on the Project Life bandwagon for 2014!

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited about today's post! I am officially starting Project Life! I've spent an infinite an amount of time watching Youtube videos and I've been stalking Instagram for inspiration and I am proud of the decision that has lead to starting Project Life!

Why should I decide to start Project Life?

A lot of people get this question! Several crafters start Project Life because they wanted a simpler way to scrapbook - that's me! :) Project Life is for every type of crafter! I'm the type of person that doesn't like pulling out all the equipment or taking out millions of paper and embellishments to complete a scrapbook layout. For me, Project Life is a simple way to document my days and my weeks. I don't have any children, but I am more than sure that I will still find a way to fill my album pages. It does come off like a huge investment of time and money, but it's not! It's fun and I'm ready for 2014 to arrive so that I may start my Project Life journey!

Can someone commit to Project Life on a Budget?

Absolutely!! This was my plan. Around October,  I started shopping little by little. About once a week, I would give myself a small crafty budget to spend at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Joann's. (My favorite craft store is Hobby Lobby - tons of sales and stuff every week!)

My first Project Life purchases were the following - the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook album. I purchased two. The main reason behind purchasing two was because I knew that I wanted to embellish my pages. With embellishments, the pages can get pretty thick so I knew that I most likely my 2014 year would be separated into two albums. The next purchase was a core kit - for journaling. Most core kits are filled with 616 cards - more than enough I believe for journaling! I chose two kits - the Blush kit (my fav!) and the Jade kit. There are plenty of kits to choose from - and one than will definitely fit your style of choice! I also purchased a big pack of photo pages - Design A is my favorite. I have seen several pages created with it, but Becky Higgins also has other page design.

My final purchase was more of a commitment than a weekly purchase - but it was worth it! I decided to subscribe to the Studio Calico monthly Project Life kit. The kit features journaling cards, embellishments, an exclusive stamp set, and much more...! The reason I decided to subscribe was because I wanted a box of inspiration delivered to my home each week - and I wanted to make sure that my butt was sticking to Project Life each week! :)

That's it guys! I can't wait to share my Project Life layouts with you - it will give you a chance to see where I get my inspiration from and hopefully inspire you! :)

Until next time,
xoxo Angela!
