Goals for 2014

c. Google

Hello everyone! ~

There are 17 days until the new year ! Today's post is all about pondering for the future.

In the past I've made new year's resolutions but I've never committed or completed them. With the new year, it got me to thinking.. what do I want to accomplish in 2014?

1. My Goal Weight and a Personality Adjustment - This is a little personal for me, but I do have a certain weight I want to reach, and I feel like 2014 is a year to start over. In January, tons of people have this goal but I want to start off slow and build up to eventually run a marathon in Disney world or Disneyland in the fall. I know it might sound weird, but if I reach my goal weight my prize will be to run at the Disney's Wine and Dine half marathon or the Twilight of Terror marathon .. and a week's vacation to Disney. It's a prize i'm really looking forward too!! With the personality adjustment, it's simple. Stop be sassy. At times, I'm very sassy. I get a little attitude amongst other people and while I was attending church, I just thought to myself - I don't want to be sassy/rude to anyone. I want to be a positive person, and I want people to approach me and see me as the kindest person they've ever met. That being said, I'm not a rude person all the time... but I have been told that I do come off strong when it comes to opinions - I'm a free spirit, it happens! lol - but that's just the meaning behind the 'personality adjustment'.

2. Project Life 2014 - This is my main goal for the year! I really want to be dedicated to this weekly and   I plan too! I've even signed up for Day by Day 2014 (Studio Calico class)!

3. Organization - Organization is another one of my goals. In the beginning of the year, I was on my A game. I always organized my planner according to the week. I kept my laptop organized with my Filofax schedule. I kept EVERYTHING organized. Sadly, towards the end of the year - I lost my spunk. I stopped using my Filofax.. I stopped blogging .. and my energy for school dwindled.

4. Travel - This year, I do plan to travel more. I REALLY want to return to Comic-Con 2014. If all goes well, I will be returning. I do want to go to New York or Chicago - or just somewhere spontaneous! Plus, if I reach one of my goals, I do get to go to Florida!

I've gained my energy back for 2014! I am going to be organized. I am going to commit to Project Life and I am going to fulfill all my goals for 2014. I look forward to sharing an update in the future!

Until next time,

Beginning Project Life ... and a little Q&A

c. Becky Higgins

I'm jumping on the Project Life bandwagon for 2014!

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited about today's post! I am officially starting Project Life! I've spent an infinite an amount of time watching Youtube videos and I've been stalking Instagram for inspiration and I am proud of the decision that has lead to starting Project Life!

Why should I decide to start Project Life?

A lot of people get this question! Several crafters start Project Life because they wanted a simpler way to scrapbook - that's me! :) Project Life is for every type of crafter! I'm the type of person that doesn't like pulling out all the equipment or taking out millions of paper and embellishments to complete a scrapbook layout. For me, Project Life is a simple way to document my days and my weeks. I don't have any children, but I am more than sure that I will still find a way to fill my album pages. It does come off like a huge investment of time and money, but it's not! It's fun and I'm ready for 2014 to arrive so that I may start my Project Life journey!

Can someone commit to Project Life on a Budget?

Absolutely!! This was my plan. Around October,  I started shopping little by little. About once a week, I would give myself a small crafty budget to spend at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Joann's. (My favorite craft store is Hobby Lobby - tons of sales and stuff every week!)

My first Project Life purchases were the following - the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook album. I purchased two. The main reason behind purchasing two was because I knew that I wanted to embellish my pages. With embellishments, the pages can get pretty thick so I knew that I most likely my 2014 year would be separated into two albums. The next purchase was a core kit - for journaling. Most core kits are filled with 616 cards - more than enough I believe for journaling! I chose two kits - the Blush kit (my fav!) and the Jade kit. There are plenty of kits to choose from - and one than will definitely fit your style of choice! I also purchased a big pack of photo pages - Design A is my favorite. I have seen several pages created with it, but Becky Higgins also has other page design.

c. Studio Calico

My final purchase was more of a commitment than a weekly purchase - but it was worth it! I decided to subscribe to the Studio Calico monthly Project Life kit. The kit features journaling cards, embellishments, an exclusive stamp set, and much more...! The reason I decided to subscribe was because I wanted a box of inspiration delivered to my home each week - and I wanted to make sure that my butt was sticking to Project Life each week! :)

That's it guys! I can't wait to share my Project Life layouts with you - it will give you a chance to see where I get my inspiration from and hopefully inspire you! :)

Until next time,
xoxo Angela!

Returning to the 'Blog Scene'

I believe, at one point in a blogger's life we have all had the urge to stop blogging.
I call it.. a blogger's 'mid-life crisis'
Out of nowhere, life piles up and we leave behind the keyboard to pursue other obstacles, but in the end we all return.

I returned to blogging because I lost my drive for writing.. It scares me quite a bit because I've written everything my whole life. I've written novels upon novels and I'm only 21. This got me to thinking.. my writing is going to pay for my future.

Writing is what I am good at.. not sales, not public relations, but writing. My editing could use a bit of tweaking but my writing style is rare.

That's what I am returning.. I am returning to the blog that started my passion for blogging, and for organization.

No more excuses, and no more reasons to not write about what I know.

Thank you for taking your time to read this .... and welcome back to Live.Love.Organize. We are a blog for the lovers of stationery, Filofaxes, all things kawaii, and especially organization.

My Week Recap + Update!

A liveloveorganize Update! :)

I have been on a workaholic spree. I feel like I have no more time left and as if time is passing by so rapidly. I work about 4 days a week, 8 hours a day at a local retail store here in Houston. The pay is great - but the hours are so long. I feel like I have to by new shoes all the time because my feet hurt so much after I get off of work. If anyone can recommend some good shoes, please let me know!

With that being said, I will be creating a NEW Youtube Channel and Blog! When I first started the liveloveorganize concept - I did not have a game plan. I like to start things with a plan, an organized plan, and that's what I want to blog and film about. I plan to take photographs with my new camera and better lighting since I nothing that even I don't enjoy when the videos come out dim or the photographs come out dim so I plan to film with new equipment since I enjoy making videos. I know I will film mostly during the week since I work most weekends but I really hope I can get things going soon! :)

Here are my previous weeks! :)

and the week before that -

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! and to the victims of the Oklahoma tornado - take care. We are all here to help you!

xoxo Angela

My Filofax Week #18

Hello everyone!

We are already on Week 18! May starts this week. Doesn't it feel like time is flying by? I feel like I am losing track all the time - maybe it's reorganization time? :)

*For some reason - this was the BEST image I could get out of my Canon EOS T3i. That means it has to go back to the shop :( I did everything I could automatically and manually and it just would not work..

A closer look at the week..

So what happened this week?
- With all the empty spaces this week, you can tell that nothing really went on :(
- I started working again - thankfully. This week was basically training week, but I am just so grateful to be working. I did take a pay cut from being a secretary but it will still pay the bills :)
- This week was also the last week of school meaning Finals week is next week - so much studying to do!

How was your week? :) Mother's day is coming up! Can't wait!

Review - Personal Filofax Saffiano

Hello everyone,

I was graciously given the chance to review the Personal Filofax Saffiano in Bright Purple, one of the newest models from Filofax. According to Filofax.. "It’s all about the color. Sophisticated classic leather-look cover in bright on trend colors. Combined with simple personal organizer construction and clean lines." That is exactly what the Saffiano is :)

The Filofax comes wrapped in this nice plastic - which is removeable but I feel like it's perfect for traveling or for storage. You can also feel the line pattern on the Filofax, similar to the chameleon and the osterley which have unique designs. You can actually see the lines in the image.

In this images, you can see the texture of the Saffiano in more detail.

Here are the front covers - one with flash (left) and one without flash (right). In person, the shade of purple is definetly the image to the right. It is a very vibrant purple compared to other shades of purple in the Filofax line. Although the material is not leather, the interior and exterior of the material is very soft to the touch. To me, it feels comfortable when touching it or taking it everyone not a little rough like the Finchey, for example.

Here in the Saffiano laying flat - with all the inserts. I had to hold down the Filofax because in the beginning it would not lay flat. It wasn't until I added my own personal inserts that the Filofax laid flat with no problems.

In the front cover of the Saffiano, there are 3 credit card slots, and a pocket behind where you can slide in your items. Compared to most Filofaxes, the top of the pocket is left open, and not closed for easier access. The only downside is that it has 3 credit card slots. For someone that might use this as a wallet or to hold stationery items, this might be a problem since the pockets are quite long in depth but small in width.

In the back cover, it does comes with a pocket but the pocket is open via the top and the bottom, which can cause things to slip out. The pocket is also stitched on both the left and right side, not allowing you to slide in any large size paper or items. The Saffiano comes with an one elasticized pen loop which will mostly likely fit larger pens. This is a great attribute since most Filofaxes do not have a elasticized pen loop, and finding pens to fit in the pen loop might be tricky.

Overall, I feel the Saffiano is a win! It's a wonderful organizer and perfect for any Filofax lover. It's one of the best new range Filofaxes and it is now available on the FilofaxUSA website. It is available in the color Bright Purple and Aqua. The Saffiano is also very inexpensive. The pocket size is $39.00, and the personal size is $49.00.

*Thank you to Filofax who provided this Filofax for review.
**My opinions are entirely my own and are not influenced by the products being reviewed.
